| Program Info: | Hunter is a private, non-profit school for children K-8, with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other related conditions, who struggle in traditional educational settings. Our unique population of students typically responds to traditional educational settings with a lack of motivation, low self-esteem and weak social and coping skills, putting these students Ôat-riskÕ. We address these issues through individually customized curriculum for the unique learning styles of our students. The educational goals for a Hunter child are addressed in the school, the residences and within our community itself. We believe that when education works in conjunction with the studentÕs uniqueness and wholeness, children will learn and thrive. Hunter has participated in the education and healthy development of 43 children since itÕs opening in 1998. |
